I was happy in my small town. In my life as a single thirty-two year old woman. I had a good job, wonderful friends, my independence.
I also hadn't got laid in three years. Hadn't been on a date in two. Had stopped counting calories and putting on makeup... a while ago.
Then Brett Jacobs waltzed in. Caressed my thigh, dug rough fingers into my hair, lowered his soft mouth to my skin, took sexual control of my mind and stirred it all around with what he packed in his pants. He dumped my quiet life upside down and crawled into a place in my heart I thought was dead.
The issue is his secret. The issue is her. The issue is that I don't even know she exists, and he thinks she's dead. The issue is that everything is about to hit the fan and I can't hold on to him tight enough.
5+ Stars!!
I will start off by telling you that I had no idea what this
book was about. I refused to read the blurb because the plot didn’t really
matter to me. I avoided other reviews like the plague for fear of spoilers. I also
didn’t meet these characters when they first made an appearance in the Bend
Anthology. All I knew was that it was written by Alessandra Torre and THAT was
all I needed to know.
This story is consuming… I was sucked in, forced to the edge,
and squirmed in my seat until the very end.
I kept thinking that maybe my thoughts would be validated with the next swipe
of my Kindle, but that wasn’t the authors plan. The suspense was meant to be,
and was worth every minute.
This story is intriguing… The world that comes to life in
the pages had me curious, angry, and brought moments of holding my breath with
the unknown events to come. Emotions ran wild and tears were shed.
This story is about determination… The strength to never
give up. The strength to make it through. The strength to survive. And the
strength to love again.
Above all, this is a story of a love that refused to die...
The word 'tight' has
twenty-two definitions, but my favorite is Webster's fifth- "A bond which
cannot be broken.”
Obviously, I highly recommend
this book. I am happy with my discussion to go in completely blind and if you
have the opportunity, I recommend that you do the same. You won’t regret it!
