Synopsis
What do you do when being with the man you love is forbidden?
You hide it.
Our relationship is secret, because he is my teacher.
For the next six months I have to pretend he is nothing more.
We sneak around like we are ashamed of how we feel.
We steal kisses or the touch of a hand when nobody is watching.
The problem is, somebody is always watching
And when things go wrong, they have the potential to ruin everything.
~Marlene's Review~
Unwritten History is the prequel to this story and you must read it
first. I loved U.H. and couldn’t wait for Rewriting history to reach my
hands.
My Short Intro:
Jill is somewhat of a loaner. Growing
up with a military dad, she is always on the move with little time to
create friendships, let alone a meaningful relationship. She decides to
join an online dating site and quickly becomes connected to Eli. They
talk for several months and have so much in common, however, Eli has no
idea that the woman he is falling for is only seventeen years old.
When
these two finally meet, they discover that their connection reaches
much further than they thought was possible. The passion they share is
off the charts and the emotions are deep.
Their love affair is
forbidden in more ways than one, but the feelings they share are
undeniable. They try to keep a safe distance, but it becomes simply
impossible.
My thoughts:
I liked Eli a lot. He struggled on a
daily basis with his feelings for Jill. He knew it was wrong, but he
just couldn’t let go. After learning of the angst he felt growing up and
the broken relationship with his father, his actions became even more
understandable.
Jill annoyed me at times, but then I would remind
myself that this girl is seventeen and her thoughts and actions were
that of a teenager falling in love.
I thought that the story
dragged a bit in some parts, but overall, I liked it. It was full of
passion, angst, deceit, and love that couldn’t be separated. I really
enjoyed all of the side characters that were there along the way for
these two. Alice and Sophia were true friends and a great support system
as well as Danny being a good friend to Eli throughout.
I would recommend this read for those looking for a quick fix of a forbidden love. This one will do the trick!
